The Government of Mongolia received a grant from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the “Strengthening Community Resilience to Dzud, and Forest and Steppe Fires Project”, which is funded by the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction with amount of $3 million. The project will be implemented between 2016 and 2019.
The project aims to strengthen community resilience to disaster risk by piloting a mechanism to establish a community-based disaster risk management (CBDRM) plan and to support its implementation through collective actions by local communities. The project has three components namely, (i) preparation of neighborhood groups’ CBDRM plans; (ii) small-scale infrastructure, equipment and technology for disaster risk resilience; and (iii) strengthening CBDRM capacity of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and local emergency management agencies (LEMA), and targeted 12 soum administrations of Gobi-Altai, Khuvsgul, Dornod and Sukhbaatar aimags. Thus, under the project, the NEMA is seeking to recruit a qualified national consultant for this position.
Objective of the assignment: Objective of the assignment is to provide administrative support services to Project Implementation Unit at NEMA.
Timing and location: Duration of the assignment is 29 person-months starting from September 2017. Post location is Ulaanbaatar with field assignments to project sites, when required.
Scope of work: (i) maintaining and archiving project files and records; (ii) assisting in preparing reports, as required; (iii) arrange external and internal meetings, and workshops; (iii) preparing minutes of external and internal meetings; (iv) making logistic arrangements for project activities; (v) translating documents from Mongolian to English and vice versa as required;
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- A bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, secretarial or other related fields.
- As minimum 1 year of relevant experience in the public or private sector.
- Proficient in current office software applications.
- Must be very fluent English (spoken and written).
